This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Create and execute technological solutions utilizing contemporary engineering tools and Agile methodologies.
• Develop and sustain Newline's primary RESTful API with Ruby on Rails.
• Collaborate with SREs to design and implement our backend infrastructure using Terraform.
• Partner with the QA team to produce comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Engage in software architecture discussions and conduct code reviews.
• Integrate our platform with core banking services and APIs.
• Aid in the establishment of data security and information security best practices.
• Take part in sessions focused on API platform scaling and optimization.
• Create Newline's internal data pipeline and BI tools.
• Implement and sustain new features and functionalities while continually enhancing the quality of our technical products and services.
• Adhere to industry standards and organizational best practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Attain operational excellence by automating processes and developing maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions.
• Stay informed about technology trends and innovations in your areas of expertise.
• Maintain proper controls and documentation to ensure compliance with all company and regulatory obligations.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• Minimum of six years of software engineering experience is required.
• Proficient experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails is essential.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and ActiveRecord.
• Experience in writing unit tests using RSpec.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
• Capability to build and utilize command line tools.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Exposure to IaC deployments (Terraform) is a plus.
• Experience in constructing high TPS API systems (~100 TPS) is advantageous.
• Preference for candidates with experience in shipping highly-available (99.99%) enterprise B2B SaaS products.
• Experience in a regulated financial environment is beneficial.
