Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable, secure, high-performance software systems that align with Evident Change’s mission.

• Facilitate design discussions and offer architectural insights throughout intricate application development projects.

• Conduct and oversee code evaluations, providing constructive criticism and upholding coding standards and best practices.

• Guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering skill enhancement and technical advancement.

• Assess and suggest tools, libraries, and frameworks to boost development efficacy and system performance.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to convert business requirements into impactful technical solutions.

• Engage in incident response and root cause analysis to ensure system dependability and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 5–8 years of experience in software development, with a strong preference for Ruby on Rails expertise.

• Familiarity with the following technologies: Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus); Tailwind CSS; PostgreSQL; RSpec and FactoryBot (for testing).

• Advanced proficiency with Git, including code review processes and CI/CD integration.

• Advanced SQL optimization and data modeling capabilities.

• Experience in designing and developing APIs and scalable systems.

• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor fellow engineers.

• Experience in Agile development settings.
