This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end closing processes, which include the preparation of high-volume transactional revenue journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses.
• Drive the design, scaling, and ongoing automation of transactional revenue accounting, encompassing revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and contra-revenue within GoFundMe’s global payments framework.
• Aid in the preparation of monthly and quarterly revenue financial reporting packages by creating supporting schedules linked to transactional activities.
• Prepare and evaluate payment processor interchange pricing models, delivering insights and recommendations regarding cost savings.
• Monitor and reconcile high-volume, multi-currency payment transactions across various payment processors, identifying discrepancies and ensuring the precision of transaction-level revenue data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payments, Finance, Tax, Data, etc.) to develop standard operating procedures that impact the revenue process and top-line outcomes, ensuring all revenue-related activities are recognized and assessed for revenue recognition implications.
• Support global and statutory audits by preparing relevant audit workpapers and schedules.
• Contribute to new system implementations and integrations by preparing use cases and conducting user testing, particularly focusing on payment and transaction processing systems.
• Assist in the establishment and implementation of controls over transactional-level data utilized for revenue reporting.
• Track and assess revenue-related contracts to ensure that revenue implications are documented and compliant with the company’s revenue policies.
• Assist with ad-hoc analyses and projects across various teams.
• 3–4 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier); a combination of public accounting experience plus 1 year of industry experience at a fintech or payments organization is preferred.
• B.A. or B.S. in Accounting.
• A CPA or equivalent is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Basic experience in researching, documenting, and communicating technical accounting issues.
• Advanced Excel skills are required (handling record sets greater than 1 million rows).
• Experience with databases and SQL across standard commercial databases, or the capacity to learn, is essential.
• Familiarity with Looker or similar BI tools is a significant advantage.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience evaluating high-volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business setting.
• Capability to work with precision and uphold a high level of accuracy.
