Senior Research Scientist – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• In the role of Research Scientist, you will play a vital role in Dexcom’s R&D Engineering Team.

• You will engage with cutting-edge cloud computing platforms and AI technologies to develop an ambitious research agenda that supports our mission, establishing Dexcom as a leader in health AI applications.

• You will assist in identifying long-term research objectives and intermediate milestones for AI models and their applications.

• Your research will advance the state of the art in AI fields, including predictive health outcomes, large language models (LLMs), and Generative AI.

• You will actively participate in experiments for training AI models, which involves experimental design, writing reusable code, conducting evaluations, and preparing findings for wider dissemination.

• You will publish your research in prestigious conferences and journals within the diabetes, health sensing, and technology sectors.

• You will prioritize research initiatives that align with Dexcom’s product development and data strategy.

• You will implement new models, tools, and processes utilized by Dexcom’s core data products team, aiding in the development of commercial data products.

• You will coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams—including stakeholders from R&D, Commercial, Product, Legal, and Regulatory—to ensure that our research initiatives align with company strategy and adhere to the highest safety standards.

• You will contribute to assessing and enhancing the safety of our models and systems by identifying risk areas and proposing mitigation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have a proven history of generating new ideas or enhancing existing concepts in machine learning and AI, as evidenced by achievements such as first author publications or notable projects that involve designing and executing experiments.

• You are a skilled independent researcher, results-oriented, and eager to tackle complex technical challenges, including selecting impactful research topics and independently managing long-term projects.

• You possess experience in developing high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms, including working with machine learning and statistical inference algorithms in frameworks like Pytorch, TensorFlow, etc.

• You are enthusiastic about being at the forefront of machine learning and AI research, with a strong passion for Dexcom’s mission and health sensing technologies.

• You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with an ability to use data visualization software and techniques to craft compelling narratives with data.
