This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the senior technical lead and subject matter expert for environmental remediation initiatives concerning soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor impacts.
• Offer technical supervision and quality assessments for remedial investigations, feasibility studies, corrective action plans, remedial designs, risk assessments, remedial action execution, and site closure documentation.
• Create and assess conceptual site models, analyze contaminant fate and transport, and propose remediation strategies.
• Assess, choose, and enhance remediation technologies.
• Provide strategic direction for projects governed by RCRA Corrective Action, CERCLA/Superfund, Brownfields, UST/LUST, and state voluntary cleanup programs.
• Counsel clients and project managers during client meetings, regulatory discussions, and project planning sessions.
• Guide project managers, engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, and environmental scientists.
• Aid business development through technical proposals, scope formulation, project planning, and client presentations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and environmental teams.
• Conduct senior-level technical reviews for quality, consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with AECOM standards.
• Manage multiple priorities and assist various project teams.
• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Extensive background in contaminated site investigation and remediation, regulatory compliance, remedial design, and closure strategies.
• Experience in managing and providing technical oversight for intricate remediation projects.
• Knowledgeable about federal and state environmental regulations, including RCRA, CERCLA, UST/LUST, and RBCA.
• Proficient in contaminated site investigation, remedial design, remedy optimization, and regulatory closure.
• Exceptional technical writing, report evaluation, presentation, and client communication skills.
• Capability to mentor technical personnel and offer leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Preferred: 20+ years of progressively responsible environmental consulting experience.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional Geologist (PG) registration.
• Preferred: A master's degree in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience with refinery, terminal, pipeline, and upstream or downstream oil & gas remediation projects.
• Preferred: Experience in groundwater modeling, contaminant transport modeling, and remedial system optimization.
• Preferred: Recognized technical expert with a well-established reputation in the environmental consulting industry.
• Preferred: Client relationship management and business development experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
