Senior Regulatory Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the systems and requirements related to renewals and approvals across various verticals, ensuring that deadlines, documentation, and fees are adhered to promptly, while maintaining compliance with active approvals.

• Conduct research, verify, and interpret laws, regulations, and licensing requirements specific to states and jurisdictions to identify operational and curriculum necessities for entering new markets and sustaining existing ones.

• Prepare, compile, and submit the necessary regulatory applications and supporting documents required for new market approvals, school licensure, and course accreditation across multiple states and verticals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert new market regulatory requirements into actionable operational, product, and content standards prior to market entry.

• Engage with partners from Product, Engineering, Customer Experience, Finance, Marketing, and Learning Experience regarding regulatory opportunities, inquiries, and enhancements.

• Establish and document the regulatory processes, rules, and standards that the wider team adheres to.

• Act as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies and government entities, fostering relationships that facilitate the progress of approvals.

• Design and implement scalable regulatory frameworks alongside AI-assisted systems and workflows to support expansion into new states and verticals.

• Mentor junior regulatory staff, setting quality standards for their work, reviewing outputs, and sharing best practices across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of pertinent regulatory, compliance, or similar work experience; education may substitute for experience on a year-to-year basis.

• Demonstrated ability to manage substantial and intricate regulatory submissions and renewals across multiple business stakeholders.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating and aligning complex regulatory processes and reporting with overarching business objectives.

• Proficient in navigating conflicting requirements and priorities.

• Experience in designing and scaling regulatory processes in a multi-product or multi-vertical setting.

• Proven track record in researching, interpreting, and operationalizing regulatory requirements for new market entry, including the preparation and submission of licensing applications.

• Comfortable developing AI-generated web applications and utilizing workflow automation tools.
