Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain the automated testing framework that encompasses API, integration, and end-to-end processes.

• Develop and manage the Playwright-based end-to-end test suite for product-related workflows.

• Participate in product evaluations and design conversations as the quality representative.

• Utilize AI-driven tools to enhance the speed of test creation and upkeep.

• Take responsibility for the release quality strategy.

• Establish and uphold integration test coverage.

• Collaborate with software engineering to prioritize quality early in the development process.

• Partner with DevOps to incorporate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

• Lead quality reviews following incidents.

• Design and implement exploratory and chaos testing for high-risk workflows.

• Define and monitor significant quality metrics.

• Investigate production defects in conjunction with engineering teams and steer root cause analysis.

• Keep updated on testing methodologies in payments and regulated fintech.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of QA engineering experience, including a minimum of 2 years in building or significantly enhancing a test automation framework from the ground up.

• Practical experience with Playwright (or a comparable modern E2E framework such as Cypress) for end-to-end testing of web applications.

• Strong programming abilities in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Python.

• Proven application of AI-assisted tools in your QA processes.

• Extensive experience in testing REST APIs and microservices.

• A demonstrated history of making release quality decisions.

• Experience in integrating automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong SQL proficiency and the ability to validate data integrity directly against databases.
