This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Promote a shift-left quality mindset within the team; ensuring that risks, assumptions, and edge cases are addressed early on.
• Detect quality gaps in processes, tools, testing strategies, or collaboration, and convert them into actionable enhancements.
• Suggest, lead, and implement quality initiatives (such as risk-based testing, test plan definitions, and automation enhancements).
• Take ownership and continuously refine the team’s quality strategy, encompassing testing approaches, coverage, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with PMs and developers during refinement, design discussions, and Three Amigos sessions.
• Oversee test planning for epics, features, and releases.
• Assist developers in becoming more effective owners of their own testing tasks.
• Cultivate a culture of psychological safety and constructive feedback when addressing quality issues.
• Create and implement test plans and test charters for new features, intricate flows, and high-risk areas.
• Conduct exploratory testing and aid the team in adopting structured techniques.
• Work with developers on unit/integration testing strategies.
• Contribute to end-to-end test automation, preferably using Cypress.
• Ensure the product remains robust in real user scenarios, including integration points and on-premises environments.
• Be accountable for ensuring that releases meet the established quality standards.
• Lead the documentation of quality insights, risk registers, and regression strategies.
• Proactively highlight quality issues with clear problem statements and recommended solutions.
• Monitor and communicate quality metrics to assist in guiding decision-making (not vanity metrics).
• Over 5 years of experience in QA within contemporary software product teams.
• Strong background in exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and structured test design.
• Demonstrated ability to identify quality gaps, propose solutions, and spearhead improvements.
• Practical experience with planning and executing test strategies for complex features.
