This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the A&D product strategy.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of UAS, autonomy, maritime, C-UAS, and JADC2/MOSA requirements and their impact on distributed systems, security, real-time data, and interoperability.
• Convert customer and mission requirements into specific product requirements, use cases, and roadmap suggestions.
• Serve as the advocate for defense customer interests.
• Perform product discovery: identify pain points, operational workflows, constraints, and integration patterns.
• Confirm roadmap direction with key customers and translate insights into actionable product strategies.
• Design RTI’s platform tailored for A&D use cases.
• Recognize capability gaps and opportunities for growth across significant defense applications.
• Collaborate with other Product and Engineering stakeholders to prioritize essential capabilities for A&D adoption, such as security, interoperability, platform support, performance, tooling, and integration requirements.
• Work alongside Sales and BD to refine pricing, licensing, and overall product strategy to facilitate seamless adoption within targeted accounts.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships to ensure successful adoption.
• Collaborate with Sales, BD, and Marketing to translate technical capabilities into attractive value propositions and differentiators.
• Create product positioning that aids Sales and BD teams in securing new business aligned with top DoD priorities.
• Contribute to strategic go-to-market plans for key programs and collaborations, including strategic resource allocation decisions and evaluating the ROI of existing programs/consortia (e.g., FACE), ensuring resources are redirected towards high-growth areas like Autonomy and C-UAS.
• Assist in developing sales materials (battlecards, demo scripts, presentations) and train field teams on messaging and differentiation.
• Gather market and competitive insights.
• Build and sustain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape, customer missions, and government modernization trends.
• Leverage this knowledge to inform RTI’s long-term A&D product strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent military or industry experience).
• Strong knowledge of UAS and/or Maritime systems, encompassing autonomy, edge computing, mission control, and data distribution.
• Capability to link technical features (e.g., data-centric middleware, security, interoperability) to mission outcomes and business value.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Professional Services to align strategies and execution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - clear, concise, and strategic.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% to customer locations and corporate/market events.
