Senior Product Designer – Design System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Uphold exceptionally high standards for layout, typography, color, spacing, visual hierarchy, and digital finishing across reusable elements.

• Design, construct, and maintain scalable component libraries encompassing buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, and tables.

• Specify interactive behaviors and state transitions, including hover, focus, disabled, loading, and mobile interactions.

• Organize and manage design tokens such as colors, spacing, typography, border-radius, and shadows.

• Arrange complex variants, properties, and components within Figma.

• Collaborate with engineering teams across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS/Native app environments.

• Develop thorough usage guidelines and documentation for component governance.

• Promote high adoption and efficiency, allowing design and engineering teams to expedite product delivery.

• Ensure consistent visual and interactive behavior across Web, Android, and iOS customer touchpoints.

• Maintain an up-to-date source of truth for design tokens, component rules, and brand compliance.

• Create scalable foundational architecture that supports product expansions, rebranding, and theme modifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems.

• Profound understanding of constraints and guidelines across Web, iOS, and Android platforms.

• A portfolio that showcases systems-level design decisions, sustainable scaling, and optimized workflows for designers and engineers.

• Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and utilize components in code repositories.

• Advanced knowledge of Figma libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication.

• Comprehensive understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles.

• Familiarity with component-driven frameworks, including React and Flutter.

• Knowledge of Atomic Design methodology.

• Excellent writing and presentation abilities.

• Capacity to translate complex design system decisions into executive-level updates and technical guidelines.

• Resume and portfolio that highlight best work, preferably within fintech or SaaS-related projects.

• Portfolio illustrating measurable impacts on user experience, business metrics, or engagement.

• Portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end product thinking, including research, wireframes, prototypes, and final execution.
