Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the design vision for Resident’s e-commerce platforms, delivering top-notch, customer-focused solutions while carefully balancing quality, speed, and business outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Marketing teams to convert business objectives, customer insights, and experimental findings into impactful digital experiences, including support for A/B testing efforts.

• Manage the design workflow from initial concept through to wireframes, prototypes, and final user interface, transforming ideas into refined, scalable experiences.

• Contribute to and enhance UI components, patterns, and overarching design systems to ensure uniformity and efficiency across Resident brands.

• Sustain and improve design system standards and Figma libraries, fostering cohesion and scalability throughout the organization.

• Exercise sound judgment in grasping project objectives, defining design strategies, and proposing solutions that enhance usability, conversion rates, and visual quality.

• Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively with partners across Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing, and executive leadership during the development lifecycle.

• Offer design expertise and strategic insights to non-design stakeholders, assisting in the enhancement of user flows, interaction patterns, and overall experience quality.

• Mentor and guide Junior and Mid-Level Product Designers, upholding high standards of craftsmanship, feedback, and professional development.

• Develop intricate prototypes in Figma to illustrate interaction models, validate concepts, and ensure stakeholder alignment.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging tools, and evolving best practices in product design, e-commerce, and experimentation.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure designs are implemented thoughtfully and with a high degree of fidelity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of product design experience, including substantial experience crafting digital products for eCommerce platforms.

• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful design processes, strong visual design capabilities, and the ability to address complex product challenges.

• Excellent foundational design skills, encompassing typography, layout, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality product design solutions that balance user requirements, business objectives, and technical constraints.

• Advanced expertise in Figma, particularly in designing intricate user flows, high-fidelity UI, and interactive prototypes.

• Experience in building, maintaining, and evolving design systems and component libraries within Figma.

• Background in data-driven product environments, including A/B testing, experimentation, and iterative product design.

• Familiarity with Notion and Jira to assist in documentation, workflow management, and collaboration across product and engineering teams.

• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and senior leadership (Directors and C-Suite stakeholders) to align on product vision and deliver impactful solutions.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the capability to clearly convey design decisions and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience mentoring and guiding junior designers, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing design culture.

• Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and discretion on critical company matters while performing duties, resolving complex issues, and interpreting policies and regulations.
