This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +10 more states.
• Direct and influence the engineering vision for horizontal platform services and tooling throughout the organization.
• Promote engineering maturity and operational excellence across platforms and applications.
• Establish and exemplify a high standard for technical excellence, nurturing a culture of quality, innovation, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Lead the advancement and adoption of platform engineering, infrastructure, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Advocate for developer productivity and experience, including the vision for internal developer platforms.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and refine full-stack development practices in line with business strategy and growth.
• Provide architectural guidance through collaboration and influence to ensure the development of scalable, coherent platforms and clear delineation of responsibilities between platform and application.
• Work across functions to embed risk awareness and operational resilience into the development lifecycle.
• Mentor and support principal and senior principal engineers, fostering their growth, alignment, and technical excellence.
• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, including substantial technical leadership.
• Extensive experience in full-stack software architecture and contemporary infrastructure.
• Profound knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including automation, CI/CD, containerization, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals and principles of problem-solving.
• Experience in designing and operating APIs, along with familiarity with Kubernetes and identity technologies.
• Experience with frontend technologies and an understanding of the trade-offs in an API-first architecture.
• Significant experience with Go and/or Java, along with the willingness and ability to learn new technologies.
• Experience in applying AI agents within software development environments to enhance engineering efficiency or quality.
