Senior Principal Backend Engineer, Conversational AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the ideation and execution of high-impact projects that significantly affect user experience and business results.

• Develop and enhance the Conversational AI Engineering roadmap in collaboration with product and technical leadership.

• Initiate projects by identifying opportunities, crafting solutions, and leading their implementation.

• Oversee integration efforts with external agencies and insurance providers.

• Normalize, rank, and assess outcomes using machine learning-based predictions to identify optimal user paths.

• Collaborate closely with our Data Science team to utilize machine learning models in tools like DataRobot for retention forecasting and decision-making processes.

• Ensure scalability and performance across the platform as we continue to expand.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development within a production environment.

• At least 4 years of experience in a senior engineering role.

• Proven ability to lead projects from conception through to execution.

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Typescript in production settings.

• Demonstrated experience in backend systems, designing RESTful APIs, and implementing business logic on top of data stores.

• Familiarity with GCP, Looker, and BigQuery is an advantage.

• Exceptional communication skills, both clear and concise, particularly within Slack and technical documentation.

• Experience in product development where you played a crucial role in decision-making.

• Experience in cross-functional leadership and collaboration.
