Senior AI Engineer – Generative AI, Pharmacovigilance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and implement AI/ML solutions tailored for Pharmacovigilance business operations.

• Develop Generative AI applications utilizing OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, or comparable LLM platforms.

• Create domain-specific AI assistants aimed at enhancing Pharmacovigilance processes and safety case management.

• Construct intelligent document processing systems for source documents, ICSRs, safety narratives, and regulatory reports.

• Develop and refine RAG-based applications leveraging vector databases.

• Create prompt engineering frameworks and assessment methodologies.

• Fine-tune specialized models using pharmacovigilance datasets.

• Develop AI agents and capabilities for workflow automation employing Agentic AI frameworks.

• Formulate and execute evaluation strategies for LLM and Agentic AI applications.

• Integrate safety systems, clinical data sources, APIs, and enterprise applications within AI workflows.

• Develop data pipelines for both structured and unstructured Pharmacovigilance data.

• Work with structured and graph-based data sources to facilitate advanced AI applications.

• Deploy AI models and Generative AI applications in production environments.

• Implement monitoring, model evaluation, drift detection, performance optimization, observability, and telemetry utilizing OpenTelemetry.

• Maintain a scalable, secure, and compliant AI infrastructure.

• Support CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines for AI applications.

• Ensure AI solutions align with GxP, GVP, FDA, EMA, MHRA, and internal quality standards.

• Assist in AI validation, audit readiness, traceability, and documentation requirements.

• Execute Responsible AI and model governance practices.

• Collaborate with Pharmacovigilance SMEs and Product Managers to capture business needs.

• Translate regulatory and safety requirements into scalable AI solutions.

• Support demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and innovation initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Physics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of practical experience in AI/ML engineering.

• Proven experience in developing and deploying production-level AI applications.

• Required experience in creating solutions using Agentic AI frameworks.

• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, NLP, and AI/ML application development.

• Experience with cloud platforms and production AI/ML deployment environments.

• Proficiency in Python — mandatory.

• Knowledge of SQL.

• Experience with REST APIs.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL.

• Understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts.

• Experience with Transformer Models.

• Proficiency in Generative AI, LLM, and fine-tuning techniques.

• Knowledge of NLP.

• Experience with Azure OpenAI / OpenAI APIs.

• Familiarity with LangChain.

• Required experience with Agentic AI frameworks.

• Experience with crewAI.

• Familiarity with LlamaIndex.

• Understanding of Prompt Engineering techniques.

• Knowledge of RAG Architecture.

• Familiarity with Semantic Search methodologies.

• Experience with Vector Databases.

• Knowledge of Azure and AWS; GCP is preferred.

• Experience with MLflow.

• Familiarity with Docker.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines.

• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry.

• Preferred understanding of Pharmacovigilance processes.

• Experience with Graph Databases and GraphRAG is preferred.

• Knowledge of Clinical Trial and Regulatory ecosystems is preferred.

• Experience in GxP-validated environments is preferred.

• Experience implementing AI solutions in regulated Healthcare or Life Sciences environments is preferred.
