This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive public relations and communications strategy for Southeast Asia, ensuring alignment with Binance’s global positioning and the realities of local markets.
• Emphasize Southeast Asia as a primary growth area, fostering enhanced media engagement, increased visibility, and ongoing brand credibility.
• Tailor messaging and strategies for smaller or restricted markets, prioritizing compliance-safe communications and effective reputation management.
• Cultivate, nurture, and expand robust relationships with leading business, financial, and tech media throughout the region.
• Achieve consistent, high-quality media coverage including interviews, opinion pieces, commentary, and feature articles.
• Establish Binance spokespeople as credible thought leaders in the realms of cryptocurrency, blockchain, financial innovation, and regulation-conscious growth.
• Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, and Policy teams to guarantee that all external communications are precise, compliant, and appropriately risk-managed.
• Assist in communications regarding regulatory changes, market limitations, and compliance milestones in a clear and responsible fashion.
• Serve as a vital communications partner during issues management or crisis situations.
• Spearhead PR planning and execution for product launches, partnerships, corporate announcements, and regional campaigns.
• Ensure that announcements are localized effectively while upholding a consistent regional narrative.
• Coordinate with global PR teams to synchronize timing, messaging, and spokesperson strategies.
• Oversee and guide local PR agencies where necessary, ensuring clear briefs, high standards, and measurable results.
• Collaborate across functions with Marketing, Social, Community, Partnerships, and Global Communications teams.
• Provide senior-level guidance to internal stakeholders on media strategy and public positioning.
• Monitor and assess PR performance using key metrics (share of voice, sentiment, message effectiveness, tier-1 coverage).
• Present clear monthly and quarterly reports that include insights, risks, and recommendations.
• Continuously enhance strategy based on data, market feedback, and the regulatory landscape.
• 8–12+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or corporate affairs.
• Strong foundation in financial services, fintech, technology, cryptocurrency, or regulated sectors.
• Direct, hands-on experience managing multi-market or regional PR strategies in Asia (Japan/Korea).
• Exceptional media instincts with strong storytelling and message framing abilities.
• High level of regulatory awareness and sensitivity to risk.
• Capability to operate strategically while remaining focused on execution.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and cross-cultural communication abilities.
• Confident advisor to senior leaders and spokespersons.
• Fluency in English is essential for coordination with overseas partners and stakeholders. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
