Senior P&C Engineer – Technical Application Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Offers technical sales assistance for the GE Grid Automation Protections & Control product range.

• Collaborates closely with clients to identify their needs, showcase solutions, and highlight the business value of products.

• Serves as a knowledgeable consultant to assist clients in planning and creating technical solutions.

• Aids in the technical development of proposals while ensuring alignment with customer specifications.

• Supplies technical expertise during client presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, and testing phases.

• Supports customers in diagnosing and analyzing protection and control systems.

• Monitors issues identified during demonstrations and coordinates with the technology team to find resolutions.

• Conducts technical presentations for clients to bolster sales or service efforts.

• Delivers product training to both customers and the sales team.

• Engages directly with clients to influence technical specifications and assist the sales team.

• Oversees pre-sales technical support for clients and the sales team.

• Builds and nurtures long-lasting relationships at the technical levels within customer organizations.

• Works in tandem with sales teams to conduct customer visits and presentations, and to take part in bid meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• At least 6 years of experience in power system protection and control.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Capability to perform power system protection coordination studies, short circuit studies, and relay setting calculations, along with providing support for field installations.

• Expertise in power system automation and communication.

• Practical experience in configuring and troubleshooting protection and control systems.

• Experience with configuring and troubleshooting 61850-based protection systems.

• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of industrial and utility relay protection applications.

• Shows practical experience with protective relay settings, features, and network communications.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.

• Customer-oriented attitude with a track record of positive outcomes.

• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
