This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in fulfilling Armstrong's mission by evaluating project requirements and creating optimized system solutions.
• Examine HVAC design drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications to devise sophisticated hydronic system solutions utilizing Armstrong's portfolio.
• Analyze and interpret control schematics, plumbing layouts, and P&ID diagrams to guarantee optimal product selection and system integration.
• Provide system optimization recommendations to engineering firms and representative partners.
• Offer technical insights regarding pump control strategies, delta-T optimization, sensor placement, and enhancements in operating costs.
• Create technical documentation and proposals for Armstrong’s offerings.
• Engage in site walk-throughs, customer meetings, and design reviews in collaboration with Armstrong sales personnel.
• Present technical information to convey Armstrong's value proposition to consulting engineers and contractors.
• Convert field data and project requirements into actionable design strategies and technical proposals.
• Utilize Armstrong’s selection tools to produce technically robust proposals, energy models, and quotations.
• Work closely with Product Management and Engineering for custom application reviews or edge-case analyses.
• A college diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical systems design, particularly in HVAC within Hydronics and Plumbing applications.
• A minimum of 1 year in a customer-focused technical position, such as internal sales engineering, technical field service, or application support.
• Essential experience in interpreting mechanical drawings, control schematics, and hydronic system documentation.
• Strong capability to read and analyze control schematics, plumbing risers, and hydronic layouts.
• Solid understanding of District Energy applications and central plant systems, including variable-speed pumping, thermal storage, heat exchangers, and control loops.
• Familiar with HVAC energy strategies (e.g., ASHRAE 36) such as reset schedules, delta-T management, and decoupling techniques.
• Proficient in selection software tools and Microsoft Office; experience with CRM and quoting platforms is advantageous.
• Technically articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently on complex engineering challenges while also contributing to cross-functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and project follow-through.
• Capable of confidently engaging in discussions with engineers and contractors and adjusting communication style as needed based on the audience.
