Senior Node.js / TypeScript Engineer – System Migration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop a migration service that transitions customers from a legacy payments system to a core platform.

• Comprehend the current data model.

• Align it with the new platform.

• Create a dependable migration service.

• Monitor migration progress and identify failures.

• Manage substantial migrations that may extend over hours or days.

• Navigate situations where source and target systems do not map seamlessly.

• Integrate with payment, merchant, user, subscription, and token-related data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Experience with data migration and ETL processes.

• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment.

• Comfortable working directly with relational databases.

• Proven track record in building backend services and managing long-running background processes.

• Strong instincts in systems design regarding reliability, observability, and recovery.

• Capable of navigating incomplete requirements and dealing with challenging legacy systems without needing comprehensive specifications upfront.

• Bonus Points: Experience in the payments or fintech sector.

• Bonus Points: Familiarity with PHP to reverse engineer any undocumented legacy API interactions.
