This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Oversee the design, execution, and upkeep of network security infrastructure.
• Develop secure systems and lead engineering teams.
• Ensure adherence to security standards while aligning with the company's goals.
• Assist in the architecture, design, implementation, and management of network and cloud infrastructure.
• Handle critical incidents and maintain reliable network operations, including DDI, Firewall, VPN, and load balancing.
• Offer technical guidance and mentor junior team members.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in network security engineering or similar roles, including expertise in cloud networking and security.
• Proficient in securing cloud environments such as AWS (e.g., VPCs, IAM, Security Groups), Azure (e.g., VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall), or GCP (e.g., Cloud Armor, Cloud VPN).
• Practical experience with network security tools including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, and DLP (Zscaler, Palo Alto, etc.).
• Direct experience with network security monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark), SIEMs, and incident response.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for automating networking tasks.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty, CCNP Security, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Understanding of DevSecOps and security monitoring in CI/CD and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Zero Trust models, microsegmentation, and cloud-native security solutions (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel).
• Proven experience leading large-scale network security projects from planning and implementation to monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Prior experience in healthcare, finance, or government sectors, specifically in managing network security within compliance frameworks like HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or SOX.
• Capability to automate network security tasks using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages, enhancing efficiency and response times for security incidents.
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
• Strong experience in managing network-related incidents and performing forensic analysis to identify the causes and impacts of security breaches.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, CEH, or similar are highly preferred.
