• Take charge of creating impactful, long-form thought leadership content across various formats such as white papers, research reports, executive bylines, contributed articles, in-depth guides, and point-of-view essays.
• Conduct independent research to uncover innovative topics, emerging trends, and market shifts, synthesizing industry data, analyst reports, and primary sources into engaging, original narratives.
• Monitor competitor and market trends to pinpoint content opportunities and ensure Vonage's thought leadership stands out distinctly.
• Cultivate and maintain an in-depth understanding of how mobile network advancements — including 5G, network APIs, AI, and cloud-native infrastructure — are transforming enterprise tech stacks, digital services, and business operations; translate this knowledge into content that appeals to senior decision-makers within both enterprise and service operator/CSP audiences.
• Craft messages for diverse audiences, with a specific focus on C-Suite enterprise readers (Chief Executive Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Digital Officers) and senior operator/CSP stakeholders responsible for network strategy, product development, and enterprise services.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing and subject matter experts to ensure content aligns with Vonage's latest positioning and strategic narrative.
• Approach every assignment with a journalist's mindset — seeking original angles, conducting interviews and background research, and building arguments grounded in evidence.
• Contribute to Vonage's overarching content strategy by identifying new thought leadership opportunities and championing the ideas, formats, and publishing channels that will yield the most significant impact.
• 7-10+ years of professional writing experience, showcasing a proven history of producing long-form thought leadership, editorial content, or investigative journalism at an advanced level.
• In-depth and fluent knowledge of mobile networks and cloud communications — including 5G, network-as-a-service, cloud-native architecture, CPaaS, network APIs (e.g., CAMARA/Open Gateway), and the strategic and commercial ramifications of network evolution for both enterprises and Communications Service Providers.
• Established understanding of the operator/CSP landscape — including how CSPs are evolving their business models, monetizing network assets, and collaborating with enterprise technology providers; this expertise is essential, not optional.
• Proven capacity to conduct independent research, synthesize intricate information, and develop original, defensible viewpoints without relying on predefined briefs or talking points.
• Strong analytical instincts and experience in performing competitor content analysis and tracking market trends to guide editorial strategy.
• Experience writing for C-Suite audiences — an inherent understanding of what garners executive attention and credibility.
• Experience working directly with or interviewing senior executives and subject matter experts.
• Proven ability to write for both enterprise decision-makers and operator/CSP audiences — recognizing that these groups have distinct priorities, vocabularies, and purchasing contexts, and adjusting content accordingly without compromising depth or authority.
• Exceptional editorial judgment: you recognize the difference between a story and a press release, between genuine insights and mere repackaged vendor claims.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, matrixed B2B technology environment with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
• Strong portfolio showcasing long-form writing on complex, high-stakes topics — preferably within enterprise technology, telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, or network strategy.
