This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.
• Act as a scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community.
• Build, nurture, and sustain relationships with leading experts and clinicians across the United States.
• Collaborate and network with key external stakeholders, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision-makers, and pharmacy directors.
• Comprehend, integrate, and effectively convey scientific and medical information, as well as the commercial value of products to the medical community and other significant internal and external audiences.
• Prioritize tasks and operate efficiently in a self-directed manner within a dynamic environment, demonstrating the ability to gather, synthesize, and communicate customer feedback.
• Align customers’ unmet needs with available internal resources.
• Work collaboratively with all departmental areas to identify opportunities and requirements that can be addressed through the communication of scientific, medical, and health economic information.
• Identify potential new speakers and provide training on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Engage in national and regional conferences, meetings, and other appropriate scientific forums.
• Keep track of the competitive landscape for advancements and trends in therapeutic areas, including new treatment management and therapies.
• Offer insights to the senior leadership team regarding specific initiatives of competitors.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR a Master’s degree with 6 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• A minimum of 2 years in a medical science liaison role within a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, along with exceptional interpersonal skills (including a strong ability to network) are essential.
• Availability to travel up to 60% for territory management, participation in regional and national conferences/workshops, and attendance at company meetings.
• Potential need to work up to 15-hour days due to travel commitments.
• Must demonstrate the ability to learn new business applications across various hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
• A professional, proactive demeanor is essential.
• Strong interpersonal abilities are necessary.
