Senior Medical Science Liaison – Immunology and Targeted Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact within the designated geographic area.

• Maintain clinical and scientific expertise in oncology and immunotherapy, specifically focusing on the standards of care for CCA and HCC treatment.

• Participate in informed, compliant, and accurate scientific peer exchanges about our client’s pipeline with key opinion leaders (KOLs).

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of clinical protocols, outcomes from clinical trials, and related procedures.

• Create and monitor KOL engagement plans, identifying, developing, and sustaining long-term collaborative relationships with KOLs in the assigned region.

• Engage in medical and scientific discussions with the medical/scientific community, including advisory boards.

• Oversee ongoing territory planning, development, and engagement activities.

• Handle all clinical program requests and respond to unsolicited information requests.

• Collaborate with the R&D Team to support sites and investigators involved in company-sponsored clinical trials.

• Conduct pre-launch KOL profiling to deepen product, disease, and scientific knowledge.

• Facilitate profiling of top accounts/institutions to enhance understanding of patient care pathways, treatment protocol development, and novel therapies.

• Work collaboratively and compliantly with commercial colleagues to ensure that product strategic imperatives are represented across all account engagements.

• Document and respond to unsolicited requests for information regarding clinical initiatives.

• May serve as a resource for investigator-sponsored trial (IIT) proposals.

• Provide internal teams with insights and feedback from interactions with KOLs.

• Represent our client at medical meetings through coverage of Medical Affairs’ Scientific Booth and other related activities.

• Attend congresses as appropriate and develop meaningful internal reports on the congresses attended.

• Adhere to corporate standard operating procedures and ensure strict compliance with relevant legal and regulatory guidelines governing scientific interactions with physicians and healthcare professionals across all activities, including those related to clinical trials and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information.

• Consistently demonstrate a high standard of excellence in managing the assigned territory while contributing to the success of colleagues and the MSL team.

• Contribute to achieving organizational goals beyond the scope of the assigned geographic territory.

• Maintain expertise in clinical data and effectively communicate the scientific and clinical outcomes, economic, and value-based evidence supporting our client's products to healthcare professionals, formulary committee members, and payers.

• Provide medical support, clinical input, and/or training for internal teams as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, or NP/PA) is mandatory.

• For MSL positions: A minimum of 2 years of previous MSL experience is required, including at least 1 year in rare disease or oncology (and/or immunology) with a working knowledge of targeted therapies.

• For Sr. MSL positions: A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical experience and 3 years of experience in rare disease, oncology (and/or immunology) are necessary.

• Experience in gastrointestinal cancer therapy is strongly preferred.

• Prior product launch experience is required.

• Must exhibit the highest level of scientific, business, and clinical acumen, along with excellent communication and networking skills.

• Ability to interpret and present scientific data effectively to engage KOLs.

• A working knowledge of standards of care for HCC and CCA is desirable.

• Previous experience sharing scientific content with payer systems is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with NCI Cooperative Groups and Oncology Research Consortiums is preferred.

• Must be able to present complex scientific and evidence-based data to payers and/or formulary committees.

• A working knowledge of institutions and clinics in the selected geographic areas is expected.

• Excellent written and oral presentation abilities are required.

• Must be willing to travel frequently (70%) with overnight stays for KOL meetings, site visits, internal meetings, medical meetings, congresses, and training.
