This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Conduct research and in-depth analyses on intricate healthcare claims data, CMS return files, financial costs, revenues, and vendor information.
• Manage both large and small datasets: join, transform, engineer, and extract valuable insights.
• Analyze statistical data and convert findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop and automate reports and dashboards utilizing SQL, Excel, Power BI, and similar tools.
• Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Population Health, IT, and external vendors to enhance enterprise reporting and analytic initiatives.
• Document analytical logic, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure work is reproducible and auditable.
• Recognize opportunities to enhance processes, improve data quality, and increase reporting efficiency.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, data analytics, public health, or a related field).
• Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• 3-5 years of analytical experience (including internships, co-ops, or applicable academic experience).
• Proficient understanding of healthcare claims structures and data (both institutional and professional).
• Strong SQL skills: capable of writing, testing, debugging, and documenting queries against large databases.
• Experience handling large datasets.
• Familiarity with methodologies for assessing the impact and effectiveness of programs, policies, or interventions.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to validate and QA the work of fellow team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with experience presenting analytical results to non-technical audiences.
• Responsive, proactive, and reliable in supporting internal stakeholders.
• Experience with Medicare or Medicare Advantage populations is a plus.
