Senior Medical Director – Medicaid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Leads medical management initiatives within Aetna’s Northeast region, which includes Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

• Oversees a team of Medical Directors.

• Works collaboratively with chief medical officers from health plans.

• Develops and implements medical management programs and policies.

• Manages the utilization review process and ensures the quality of utilization decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical practice.

• At least five (5) years of administrative experience in the healthcare sector or managed care.

• M.D. or D.O. with Active Board Certification in an ABMS or AOA recognized specialty, along with post-graduate direct patient care experience.

• Must hold a current and active State Medical License free of any encumbrances.
