This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead a collaborative team focused on electric transmission engineering initiatives.
• Act as Supervisor and Engineering Lead for the design of high-voltage overhead and underground transmission lines.
• Utilize NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other relevant standards for capital and maintenance projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 765 kV.
• Conduct and supervise engineering analyses.
• Create bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement documents, and construction documentation.
• Work in conjunction with project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
• Build and develop an engineering team while overseeing direct reports.
• Handle client relations, proposal development, scope definition, and project management.
• Clearly communicate expectations, goals, and vision; manage the performance of direct reports.
• Inspire, coach, mentor, and assign tasks to a team of skilled professionals.
• Oversee collaboration and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Identify risks and opportunities through project performance metrics.
• Employ AI, automation, and digital design platforms to enhance grid modernization and design efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in designing high-voltage electric utility transmission systems.
• Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, and/or FAD.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Capability to work effectively both in a team setting and independently.
• Experience managing collaboration and resolving conflicts.
• Preferred experience of five or more years in a supervisory role.
• An M.S. degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills for primary client interaction.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of project performance metrics.
• Enthusiasm and ability to develop staff through mentoring.
• Some travel may be necessary.
