This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Provide strategic advice to large corporations regarding international tax planning and cross-border M&A transactions within the Energy sector.
• Assist clients in formulating and implementing international tax strategies.
• Execute cross-border M&A due diligence and structuring services.
• Offer guidance on pre-transaction reorganisations and post-transaction integration.
• Aid in the rationalisation of legal structures and redesigning of operating models.
• Counsel on issues related to capital structure, financing, intellectual property ownership, and relief optimisation.
• Mitigate risks arising from global tax law developments such as BEPS.
• Engage in lobbying and negotiations with tax authorities in the UK and internationally.
• Cultivate and maintain client relationships while actively contributing to business development efforts.
• Oversee the successful execution of technically intricate consulting projects.
• Assume overall responsibility for the quality of client service.
• Manage leads from other practice areas and foster both internal and external networks.
• Mentor, coach, and supervise junior personnel.
• Contribute to the strategic direction, operations, and assignment of junior staff within the team.
• ACA, CA, ACCA, or CTA qualification; alternatively, Tax Inspectors with completion of the full Technical Training Course; or a Law degree.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Demonstrated experience as a corporate tax practitioner.
• Proven capability to interpret existing and new tax legislation.
• Experience in a client-facing capacity in UK tax or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Background in the Energy sector is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in international and UK tax technical skills and comprehension.
• Effective client relationship management with a focus on producing high-quality client outcomes.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to address challenges effectively.
• Business development acumen with a talent for identifying and leveraging opportunities.
• Solid business sense and capability to manage financial results of engagements.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines even under pressure.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to build and maintain effective teams.
• Adaptive, innovative, and open to change, including the integration of new technologies.
• Ideally, possess project management skills with the capability to plan, prioritise, meet deadlines, and oversee budgets.
