This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee the commodity management for distributed products within designated business units.
• Serve as the escalation point for supplier or internal issues.
• Lead the designated Supply Chain team.
• Conduct negotiations for supplier contracts and pricing.
• Guide contracts and sourcing projects through the established Passport standard work process.
• Initiate cost reduction initiatives through the analysis of spend data, market trends, program development, should-cost estimation, and volume aggregation.
• Discover savings opportunities and spearhead projects with support from cross-functional teams.
• Facilitate supplier discussions and negotiations focusing on cost savings, performance enhancements, and Long Term Agreements.
• Develop and present the annual Strategic Sourcing Review Board strategy to peers and senior management.
• Examine current contracts, pinpoint gaps, and collaborate with Contract Managers to enhance terms.
• Transition spot buys into long-term agreements.
• Maximize market share for dual-source products.
• Act as the focal point for KPI reviews within the Strategic Business Unit.
• Identify and achieve savings through negotiations, transitions, and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure precise reporting of savings and price adjustments.
• Coordinate sourcing decisions for new programs alongside Supply Chain Directors, Design Engineers, Program Directors, and Product Introduction Management.
• Keep track of supplier market conditions and technology roadmaps, identifying supply/demand challenges.
• Assist in the development and execution of the strategic commodity plan.
• Forge strategic supplier partnerships and lead initiatives aimed at supply-base efficiency.
• Report directly to the Associate Director of Commodity Management for Distributed Products.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
• A university degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
• Over 7 years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts Management, Business Development, or another business-related area.
• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information related to this program/contract.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
• Preferred knowledge of aerospace products, including processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality standards.
• Previous leadership experience or experience in a highly matrixed organization is preferred.
• Experience with Supply Chain systems, particularly SAP, is preferred.
• Analytical experience is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and databases is preferred.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential.
