This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee the commodity management for distributed products within designated business units.
• Serve as the escalation contact for supplier-related or internal matters.
• Supervise the assigned Supply Chain team.
• Facilitate supplier contract and pricing negotiations following the established Passport standard work process.
• Initiate cost reduction initiatives utilizing spending data, market trends, program development, should-cost analysis, and volume aggregation.
• Discover savings potentials and lead collaborative projects across various functions.
• Conduct supplier discussions and negotiations focused on cost reductions, performance enhancements, and Long Term Agreements.
• Develop and promote the annual Strategic Sourcing Review Board strategy.
• Review existing contracts, pinpoint deficiencies, and enhance terms in collaboration with Contract Managers.
• Align commodity strategies with the broader organizational goals.
• Transition spot purchases into long-term agreements.
• Maximize market share for dual-source products.
• Act as the Strategic Business Unit point of contact for Key Performance Indicator reviews.
• Identify and achieve savings through negotiations, transitions, and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure precise documentation of savings and price adjustments.
• Coordinate sourcing strategies for new programs with Supply Chain Directors, Design Engineers, Program Directors, and Product Introduction Management.
• Keep track of supplier market conditions and technological advancements while addressing supply/demand issues.
• Aid in the development and execution of strategic commodity plans.
• Cultivate strategic supplier relationships and spearhead supply-base efficiency projects.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
• A University Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
• Over 7 years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Contract Management, Business Development, or a related business field.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; only U.S. citizens are permitted access to information under this program/contract.
• Knowledge of aerospace products is preferred, including familiarity with processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality standards.
• Previous experience in team leadership or working within a highly matrixed organization is preferred.
• Familiarity with Supply Chain systems, particularly SAP, is preferred.
• Analytical experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and database management is preferred.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities are preferred.
• Experience in project management is preferred.
• Capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
