Senior Manager – Billing and Revenue

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive architecture for Billings-to-Cash and Revenue platforms, which includes Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue, ERP systems, payment gateways, tax engines, and downstream reporting mechanisms.

• Craft scalable and compliant solutions that facilitate subscriptions, usage-based billing, intricate pricing models, amendments, minimum commitments, and bundled offerings.

• Serve as the architectural authority for Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) modifications, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, SOX, audit, and internal control standards.

• Facilitate design workshops, solution walkthroughs, and architecture evaluations with business and finance stakeholders.

• Convert complex business needs into effective functional and technical designs, comprehensive end-to-end scenarios, and Lucid flowcharts.

• Supervise the delivery of enhancements, transformations, and compliance projects across Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Revenue, and Cash processes.

• Propel system conversions, migrations, and onboarding of acquisitions into the Q2C ecosystem.

• Ensure operational excellence and high availability across production systems, including proactive monitoring and timely issue resolution.

• Oversee integrations among Zuora, Salesforce CPQ/CRM, ERP (Oracle), tax engines, banks, payment gateways, usage mediation platforms, and reporting tools.

• Advocate for automation and straight-through processing in billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, and closing processes.

• Ensure that integrations adhere to enterprise standards for integration, security controls, and performance metrics.

• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance to assist with month-end closures, reconciliations, audits, and regulatory reporting.

• Ensure system preparedness for ASC 606 revenue accounting, deferred revenue, allocations, and satisfaction events.

• Enable scalable reporting and analytics for Q2C Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), aging, revenue, and operational health.

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of application engineers, architects, and functional subject matter experts (SMEs).

• Establish clear expectations, career pathways, and development plans for team members.

• Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, learning, and innovation.

• Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders in Finance, Accounting, IT, and Business.

• Direct cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams, vendors, and geographic locations.

• Balance competing priorities while ensuring delivery quality and maintaining stakeholder trust.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Billings-to-Cash / Revenue systems, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior technical leadership or management role.

• At least 14 years of experience in Quote-to-Cash (Q2C), with no less than 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.

• Demonstrated success in delivering at least two (2) end-to-end implementations across Billing, AR, Revenue (ASC 606), and Cash processes, encompassing design, build, integration, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue, including areas such as subscriptions, usage, pricing, amendments, invoicing, payments, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

• Strong practical experience with Oracle Cloud AR and Oracle Revenue Management, covering invoicing, cash application, collections, accounting events, and revenue recognition.

• Proven ability to design and manage complex, enterprise-level integrations across SaaS platforms, including Zuora, Oracle ERP, tax engines, payment gateways, banks, and usage mediation platforms.

• Solid understanding of financial close processes, including AR aging, reconciliations, revenue tie-outs, audit support, and SOX compliance.

• Experience leading large-scale programs, system implementations, transformations, and platform modernization efforts.

• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building, mentoring, and managing global teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for influencing senior business and finance leaders.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, including backlog management, releases, upgrades, and production support.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
