β’ Design, develop, and manage production-quality machine learning systems that transition from initial concepts and prototypes into dependable customer-facing services.
β’ Oversee the complete machine learning process, including data collection, model training, evaluation, deployment, observability, and iteration within a production environment.
β’ Collaborate closely with applied scientists and software engineers across backend, web, and mobile domains to incorporate contemporary machine learning methods into Zillow's offerings.
β’ Enhance the quality, speed, reliability, and maintainability of machine learning processes that support floor plan and rich media products.
β’ Make technical decisions in uncertain problem areas, particularly where structured inference, computer vision, spatial signals, or performance trade-offs are significant.
β’ Assist in establishing common patterns, tools, and best practices that elevate the standards for machine learning engineering within the team.
β’ Mentor colleagues through proficient technical execution, code reviews, debugging practices, and effective communication across various functions.
β’ Substantial professional experience in developing and deploying machine learning models or ML-driven systems in a production setting.
β’ Strong practical expertise in Python and at least one contemporary machine learning framework, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
β’ Experience in constructing and managing end-to-end machine learning workflows, covering data pipelines, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
β’ Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including representation learning, structured prediction, computer vision, optimization, and failure analysis.
β’ Proficient in diagnosing model and system behavior in real-world settings using metrics, logs, and experiments to enhance outcomes.
β’ Ability to work collaboratively with applied scientists, software engineers, and product partners in uncertain, cross-functional environments.
β’ Strong engineering judgment with knowledge of how to balance experimentation with reliability, speed, and long-term maintainability.
β’ Capable of articulating technical concepts clearly and influencing decisions across various disciplines.
β’ Experience in computer vision, spatial data, 3D, AR/VR, mapping, search, recommendation systems, or related fields is advantageous.
