This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Develop, train, and validate predictive and statistical models that transform noisy healthcare data into reliable intelligence products utilized by MedTech commercial teams.
• Translate open-ended business inquiries into modeling challenges — selecting appropriate techniques (classification, regression, clustering, causal inference, ensembles, etc.), defining success metrics, and assessing uncertainty.
• Engineer features and perform applied research across various datasets, including time-series, geospatial, demographic, and insurance claims, to enhance the coverage and signal quality of our core data assets.
• Manage the entire model lifecycle: exploratory analysis, baseline modeling, experimentation, validation, deployment, and post-launch monitoring for drift and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to convert customer challenges into model-driven product features and to influence the product roadmap.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship on statistical and ML methodologies for engineers and analysts throughout the Data organization and across all of AcuityMD.
• Document models, assumptions, and data contracts to ensure results are interpretable and reproducible for both internal and external audiences.
• You possess over 6 years of experience in machine learning roles, developing and deploying statistical or machine learning models in a production setting, preferably as part of product teams catering to external clients.
• You have a strong foundation in applied statistics and ML — including regression, classification, forecasting, clustering, experimental design, and model evaluation — and understand when to apply each method effectively.
• You instinctively use agentic tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) and are dedicated to expanding the possibilities of agentic development.
• You can clearly and succinctly communicate technical recommendations and model behaviors to non-technical product, commercial, and customer audiences.
• You have practical experience in merging and blending complex, real-world datasets — time-series, geospatial, demographic, etc. — and excel at extracting meaningful insights from noise.
• You are proficient in modern cloud data warehouses using SQL for data preparation for modeling and can effectively collaborate with data engineers on production pipelines.
• You are well-versed in Python's data and ML ecosystem and have strong preferences regarding your approaches, techniques, or model implementations.
• Ground floor opportunity: Join a high-growth startup, supported by top-tier investors in Enterprise SaaS and Medical Devices (Benchmark, Redpoint Ventures, and Ajax Health).
• Learning Budget: Reimbursements for relevant learning and skill enhancement opportunities.
• Remote work: AcuityMD is dedicated to providing full-remote flexibility for employees in the US, along with a work-from-home stipend for all staff.
• Flexible PTO: Generous time off and flexible hours allow you the freedom to perform at your best.
• Paid Health, Dental, and Vision Plans: We offer 100% coverage for health, dental, and vision plans for all employees and 75% coverage for dependents.
• Home Office Stipend: $1,000 to invest in remote office equipment and WiFi reimbursement.
• Optional Team Retreats: We gather in person multiple times a year for collaborative work and social events.
• Parental Leave: Up to 8-16 weeks of fully-paid, flexible parental leave.
