This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Develop, train, and validate predictive and statistical models that transform noisy healthcare data into dependable intelligence products utilized by MedTech commercial teams.
• Articulate open-ended business questions as modeling challenges — choosing the appropriate methodology (classification, regression, clustering, causal inference, ensembles, etc.), defining success metrics, and assessing uncertainty.
• Construct features and perform applied research across various datasets, including time-series, geospatial, demographic, and insurance claims, to enhance the coverage and signal quality of our core data assets.
• Manage the entire model lifecycle: exploratory analysis, baseline modeling, experimentation, validation, deployment, and post-launch monitoring for drift and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to convert customer challenges into model-supported product features and to influence the roadmap.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship on statistical and ML methodologies to engineers and analysts throughout the Data organization and across all of AcuityMD.
• Document models, assumptions, and data contracts to ensure that results are interpretable and reproducible for both internal and external audiences.
• You possess 6+ years of experience in machine learning roles, developing and deploying statistical or machine learning models in a production setting, ideally within product teams serving external customers.
• You have a solid grounding in applied statistics and ML — including regression, classification, forecasting, clustering, experimental design, and model evaluation — and understand when to use each method effectively.
• You inherently utilize agentic tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) and are dedicated to exploring the possibilities of agentic development.
• You can clearly and succinctly convey technical recommendations and model behaviors to non-technical product, commercial, and customer audiences.
• You have practical experience in merging and blending messy, real-world datasets — including time-series, geospatial, demographic, etc. — and excel at extracting meaningful insights from noise.
• You are adept at working within modern cloud data warehouses using SQL to prepare data for modeling and can effectively collaborate with data engineers on production pipelines.
• You are proficient in Python's data and ML stack and have strong preferences regarding your approaches, techniques, or model implementations.
• Ground floor opportunity: Join a high-growth startup, supported by world-class investors in Enterprise SaaS and Medical Devices (Benchmark, Redpoint Ventures, and Ajax Health).
• Learning Budget: Reimbursements for relevant learning and up-skilling opportunities.
• Remote work: AcuityMD is dedicated to providing full-remote flexibility for employees in the US, including a work-from-home stipend for all employees.
• Flexible PTO: Generous time off and flexible hours empower you to perform at your best.
• Paid Health, Dental, and Vision Plans: We cover 100% of health, dental, and vision plans for all employees, with 75% coverage for employees' dependents.
• Home Office Stipend: $1,000 to invest in remote office equipment and WiFi reimbursement.
• Optional Team Retreats: We gather in-person multiple times a year for co-working and social events.
• Parental Leave: 8-16 weeks of fully-paid, flexible parental leave.
