
Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Computer Vision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Design, train, and deploy models for damage detection and segmentation, overseeing the process from dataset curation to deployment.
• Contribute to the technical strategy regarding model architecture, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and transformers.
• Utilize Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision Language Models (VLMs), and agentic workflows to enhance dataset mining and collection.
• Collaborate with our annotation teams to develop the datasets necessary for these models to function effectively.
• Implement models in production environments on both server and mobile platforms in cooperation with other teams.
• Assist in establishing high technical standards for the team's coding practices, experimental methods, and reproducibility.
• Occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or visits to production facilities may be necessary.
• One of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, Master’s degree with 2+ years, PhD with 1+ year, or 16 years of industry experience without a degree.
• Degrees should be in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in machine learning, specifically with a focus on Computer Vision.
• Demonstrated experience in developing machine learning models for detection, segmentation, and/or classification.
• Strong technical communication skills.
• Proficiency across the complete stack of a machine learning system, encompassing data, training, and evaluation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with OpenCV and NumPy for image processing and data preparation using classical computer vision algorithms.
• C++ experience for performance-critical applications (preferred).
• Experience with mobile deployment for Android and/or iOS (preferred).
• Background in multi-view geometry, Structure-from-Motion, or 3D reconstruction (preferred).
• Familiarity with machine vision cameras and hardware (preferred).
