Senior Machine Learning Developer, Advertiser Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Next-Gen budget pacing: Develop and enhance advanced pacing controllers (PID, probabilistic forecasting) to balance advertiser expenditure across various time zones and traffic fluctuations, ensuring optimal delivery and market stability.

• Creative GenAI infrastructure: Spearhead the backend integration of Generative AI models (Diffusion, LLMs) to automate the generation of high-impact image and video assets customized for specific campaign objectives and formats.

• Marketplace experimentation engine: Create and expand the infrastructure for rapid experimentation, including A/B testing, switchback tests, and long-term holdouts to assess the effects of marketplace modifications on advertiser ROI and platform health.

• High-Scale billing reliability: Design and sustain high-throughput billing systems that handle billions of events with 100% accuracy, connecting real-time ad delivery with crucial financial reconciliation.

• Scientific optimization: Examine intricate financial and marketplace datasets to enhance the balance between spending speed and advertiser outcomes, utilizing experimental findings to adjust pacing and billing logic.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 4 years of software engineering experience, with at least 1 year focused on ad delivery systems.

• Extensive background in developing and maintaining large-scale, low-latency backend systems using programming languages such as Java, Go, or Scala.

• In-depth knowledge of building or managing budget control systems, feedback loops, or spending prediction algorithms.

• Demonstrated experience in developing or scaling experimentation platforms, with a solid understanding of variance reduction, interference/network effects, and metric design in a marketplace environment.

• A proven history of working on "mission-critical" pipelines (like billing, payments, or clearinghouses) where data accuracy, idempotency, and fault tolerance are crucial.

• Familiarity or strong technical interest in constructing backend workflows necessary for serving, scaling, and storing Generative AI models for creative asset production.

• Proficiency in real-time stream processing (Kafka, Flink, or Spark) specifically related to event-driven charging and real-time performance feedback.

• A demonstrated capability to lead complex, multi-quarter technical roadmaps and mentor senior engineers in a fast-growing environment.
