
Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer – Bare Metal, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Leverage extensive knowledge in traditional Linux administration, bare metal infrastructure, and enterprise storage.
• Design, construct, manage, and resolve issues within large-scale Linux infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other teams as needed for effective infrastructure management.
• Proficient in Linux administration at an expert level (Ubuntu is required; Red Hat and SUSE are preferred).
• Extensive experience in the deployment, architecture, and management of bare metal servers.
• Solid understanding of server hardware, including BIOS, RAID, firmware, iLO/iDRAC/IPMI, NICs, HBA cards, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Proven experience in designing and managing enterprise Linux infrastructure.
• Advanced skills in Linux storage administration, including LVM, XFS, EXT4, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and SAN Multipath I/O.
• Strong practical experience with Ceph, encompassing: Cluster architecture, MON, OSD, MDS, RBD, CephFS, and RGW.
• Capacity planning expertise.
• Proficiency in performance tuning.
• Competence in failure recovery.
• Robust networking knowledge, including bonding, VLANs, routing, MTU, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills across Linux OS, hardware, networking, and storage domains.
• Proficient in Bash and Python scripting for automation purposes.
• Preferred experience with Kubernetes infrastructure, particularly in storage integration.
• Familiarity with VMware or KVM.
• Knowledge of Ansible.
• Exposure to AWS/Azure.
• Candidates with a primary focus on CI/CD pipeline engineering are not being considered.
• Engineers primarily engaged in Terraform, GitOps, or container platforms need not apply.
• Cloud-only administrators with limited experience in bare metal or infrastructure are not suitable for this role.
