This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Provide visionary leadership in strategy and innovative thinking methodologies to create new products and services, introduce groundbreaking concepts, enhance existing processes, and foster a culture of innovation at Mortenson.
• Oversee innovation projects leveraging expertise in the construction industry.
• Lead the Company’s research and development initiatives, including rapid prototyping, product development, industrialization, and the creation of new tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with operating groups to enhance capabilities and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Partner with external organizations to drive advancements in the construction industry and within Mortenson’s business operations.
• Assist operating groups in formulating business plans related to innovation.
• Establish and manage the innovation center as the central hub for transformative innovation.
• Organize group-level innovation challenges to source problem-solving ideas from a diverse audience.
• Design and model solutions aimed at enhancing customer innovation and experience initiatives.
• Broaden the reach of the Innovation group through the development of the Innovation HUB.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with established firms, startups, and academic institutions.
• Track technological trends and advancements, implementing changes that will strengthen the organization.
• Build connections across various backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Lead by example, offering coaching and feedback, while managing team performance.
• Extensive knowledge of research and analysis methods and techniques.
• Proficient understanding of statistical analysis and forecasting techniques.
• Familiarity with general office equipment and personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheet software, and related applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of office systems, practices, procedures, and administrative tasks.
• Understanding of organizational and operational analysis techniques.
• Capability to study complex business issues and analyze multiple datasets.
• Skill in conducting predictive analysis and effectively communicating results to management.
• Strong active listening abilities and effective communication skills, with a receptiveness to diverse input and feedback.
• Willingness to travel up to a specified percentage.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related degree in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the AEC industry or construction field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.
