Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, and wireless technologies.

• Own and enhance the observability strategy across infrastructure and applications utilizing platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, and SNMP-based polling.

• Develop proactive monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding systems to facilitate quicker detection and resolution of issues.

• Design and manage network and cloud infrastructure using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Create reusable modules for network configurations, monitoring policies, and components of cloud infrastructure.

• Implement infrastructure configurations that are version-controlled, ensuring full auditability.

• Utilize GitHub (GitOps) for:

• Source control of infrastructure and network configurations.

• Change management through pull request processes.

• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (GitHub Actions) for infrastructure deployments.

• Enforce approval workflows, testing, and promotion across various environments (development to production).

• Treat infrastructure changes as code, ensuring full traceability and rollback capabilities.

• Manage and optimize infrastructure across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP from a networking and operational perspective.

• Automate routine IT operations tasks through scripting to minimize manual effort.

• Assist in incident response and conduct root cause analysis for network and infrastructure-related issues.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation and diagrams that reflect the current state of network and infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or IT operations.

• Strong foundational knowledge in networking: routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and wireless technologies.

• Experience in working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP in networking or infrastructure roles.

• Practical experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, and LogicMonitor.

• Expert-level understanding of SNMPv2 and SNMPv3, including MIBs, traps, polling architecture, and secure configurations.

• Proficient scripting and automation skills in languages such as Python or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools in production settings.

• Experience utilizing GitHub or similar platforms for CI/CD and infrastructure automation.

• Proficient in working with APIs and system integrations.

• Strong grasp of IT operations best practices, incident management, and troubleshooting methodologies.

• Familiarity with managing hybrid environments that include both cloud and on-premises resources.
