This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Design, implement, and manage security controls for cloud and infrastructure in Azure-centric environments, with supplemental coverage in AWS.
• Establish and uphold security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities by utilizing SIEM, cloud-native tools, and endpoint/network telemetry.
• Engage in security incident response activities, encompassing investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to securely architect and deploy SaaS and on-premises solutions, including infrastructure hardening and secure configurations.
• Develop, fine-tune, and sustain security alerts and detections to enhance signal quality and minimize noise.
• Assist in vulnerability management tasks, including infrastructure scanning, risk assessment, remediation tracking, and validation.
• Work alongside compliance and GRC teams to meet SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, 27017, and 27018 requirements through effective technical controls and evidence generation.
• Implement and manage identity, access, and secrets management controls for cloud and infrastructure settings.
• Contribute to defining and continuously enhancing security runbooks, operational procedures, and response playbooks.
• Assess, implement, and support security tools related to cloud security posture management, logging, endpoint protection, and threat detection.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, attacker methodologies, and cloud security trends, applying this knowledge to strengthen defenses.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior security engineers as needed, without direct people-management responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6–8+ years of experience in information security, security engineering, or cloud/infrastructure security roles. (Candidates with 3–5 years of strong, relevant experience may be considered at the Staff level.)
• Hands-on experience securing Azure cloud environments, covering networking, identity, logging, and workload protection.
• Experience in security monitoring, detection, and response, including SIEM platforms, log analysis, and incident investigation.
• Strong grasp of infrastructure security principles, including network segmentation, hardening, patching, and secure configuration.
• Familiarity with AWS security concepts and controls.
• Experience supporting regulated environments and audits (SOC, ISO, or similar).
• Proficient in Linux and Windows environments, with some exposure to scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate security risks into actionable remediation steps.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, IT, and compliance stakeholders.
