This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Assist the organization with the Value Added Tax (VAT) implications related to service sales, purchases, supply chain operations, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), and business growth, while keeping abreast of global tax developments.
• Evaluate and authorize European VAT returns, European Community (EC) sales lists, and Intrastat reports to guarantee timely and precise submission, while supervising the periodic reconciliation of general ledger VAT accounts.
• Oversee the VAT components of Finance and Information Technology (IT) initiatives, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation and E-Invoicing, to enhance system functionalities and improve data integrity.
• Conduct internal VAT audits, manage audits by external tax authorities, evaluate financial risks, implement relevant provisions, and uphold standard operating procedures for indirect tax reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in managing VAT compliance, planning, and reporting within a complex, multinational setting.
• Extensive knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) accounting and consolidated financial statements.
• Significant technical proficiency in ERP systems, report extraction, and utilizing Shared Service Centers (SSC) or external service providers.
• Proven capability to clearly convey complex tax issues to non-tax business stakeholders and tax authorities.
• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in accounting, finance, or a tax-related discipline, in addition to professional accounting or tax credentials.
