Senior Incident Response Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• In the role of Senior Incident Response & Readiness Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor, spearheading both proactive and emergency engagements with enterprise clients.

• Perform thorough evaluations of incident response plans, pinpointing deficiencies and creating customized strategies to enhance organizational preparedness.

• Develop and implement tailored incident response playbooks that cater to specific threats and operational requirements.

• Conduct training sessions on the fundamentals of incident response to strengthen customer capabilities.

• Lead workshops, tabletop exercises, drills, and functional simulations to assess and enhance readiness.

• Offer strategic advice to clients on how to incorporate readiness into broader security initiatives.

• Act as a subject matter expert in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR).

• Oversee large, intricate investigations involving host, network, and cloud artifacts to ascertain the nature, scope, and root cause of cyber incidents.

• Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional incident response teams.

• Direct containment, remediation, and recovery efforts to secure environments following incidents.

• Maintain a professional, reassuring, and authoritative demeanor during high-pressure situations.

• Provide briefings to senior leadership and technical teams regarding findings, risks, and recommendations.

• Contribute to the development of incident response methodologies and assist in building internal capabilities.

• Engage in a 24x7 emergency response rotation that includes weekend duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related discipline, with an emphasis on incident response and readiness.

• Proven capability to lead high-stakes incidents and readiness initiatives.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., GIAC, CISSP, CISM, or similar) are advantageous but not mandatory; demonstrated impact and expertise are the primary criteria.
