This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with Divisional HR leadership to execute HR strategies and priorities aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency and aligning with business goals.
• Provide guidance on intricate employee relations, workforce, and people-related issues.
• Offer Human Relations consultation and support to leaders in unionized settings.
• Assist with labour relations tasks, including interpreting collective agreements, managing grievances, and working alongside union representatives.
• Counsel leaders on employee and labour relations issues while ensuring adherence to legislation, collective agreements, and company policies.
• Implement coaching and development programs along with leadership support.
• Assess organizational needs, workforce data, and effectiveness metrics to pinpoint gaps and promote ongoing improvement.
• Lead organizational design initiatives and assist in the implementation process.
• Formulate both short- and long-term workforce strategies and recommend approaches for hiring, development, and optimization of the workforce.
• Aid in succession planning by identifying key roles, assessing successor readiness, and establishing development pathways.
• Provide strategic Human Relations collaboration to leaders across Hamilton and London in both unionized and non-unionized settings.
• A university degree in Human Resources, social sciences, business, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience, including managerial leadership and specialized expertise across multiple HR functional areas.
• Progressive HR generalist experience catering to various client groups, locations, or business units.
• Proven experience in delivering strategic HR leadership and business collaboration within complex, multifaceted organizations.
• Familiarity with navigating both unionized and non-unionized work environments.
• Knowledge of labour relations, including collective agreement interpretation and grievance resolution.
• Capability to direct operational plans, workforce strategies, and team goals.
• Proficient in building trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders as an advisor, coach, and problem-solver.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and consensus-building abilities.
• Skills in change management and continuous improvement.
• Strong leadership qualities, integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission, values, and culture.
• CHRL/CPHR designation is considered an asset.
