Senior Geoprocessing Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Engage in intricate geoprocessing initiatives, utilizing diverse satellite imagery and sophisticated software for the analysis and modeling of geospatial data.

• Execute image processing, detect land use changes, conduct predictive analyses, and oversee environmental monitoring.

• Create scripts (Python/R) to automate workflows, suggest innovative geospatial technologies, and connect GIS systems with cloud platforms.

• Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level analysts, lead training sessions (both internal and client-facing), and oversee the quality control of geographic data.

• Generate technical assessments, reports, and strategic presentations to simplify complex data for stakeholders and coordination efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartographic Engineering, Forestry, Environmental Engineering, Geoprocessing, or related disciplines (a postgraduate degree/Master's is advantageous).

• Significant experience in geospatial projects and remote sensing.

• Advanced skills in GIS tools (QGIS and/or equivalent software), cartography, and image classification.

• Extensive knowledge of Brazilian biomes and their socio-environmental interactions.

• Intermediate proficiency in English and adeptness with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace applications.

• Preferred: Experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE), SQL, PostGIS, Python/R, and Machine Learning.
