This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.
• Develop high-quality 3D environments from initial concept to final in-engine implementation, including architecture, props, and set dressing.
• Construct, optimize, and sustain assets for real-time performance while maintaining excellent visual quality.
• Assemble, light, and implement environments utilizing Unity.
• Collaborate with the art director, concept artist, and technical artist to establish and uphold the visual direction.
• Work closely with programmers to ensure that environments fulfill technical and performance standards.
• Contribute to world-building through effective composition, lighting, materials, and atmosphere.
• Keep assets organized and tidy, adhering to established pipelines and performance guidelines.
• Offer constructive feedback and serve as a knowledge resource and mentor for fellow artists.
• Assist in maintaining production pipelines while adhering to schedules and deadlines.
• Help define and enhance environment art pipelines and best practices.
• Set and maintain visual benchmarks and quality standards.
• Over 3 years of professional experience as an Environment Artist in the gaming industry, with at least one title released.
• A strong portfolio showcasing environment art skills, including modeling, texturing, composition, and in-engine implementation.
• Proficiency in major 3D content creation software such as 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender, along with experience in ZBrush and the Adobe texturing suite.
• Comprehensive understanding of environment art fundamentals, including scale, proportion, composition, lighting, color theory, and environmental storytelling.
• Solid knowledge of environment art workflows, including modular asset creation, optimization, and real-time constraints.
• Familiarity with physically based rendering (PBR) workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality 3D assets, including hero props, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to balance visual quality with technical limitations and performance expectations.
• Experience with modern game engines, especially Unity (experience with Unreal is also considered transferable).
• Strong communication abilities, with professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.
• Experience in effective collaboration across disciplines in a team setting.
