Senior Fullstack Mobile Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop features, resolve bugs, and address production incidents across both iOS and Android platforms, extending to the backend and web frontend that the product relies on — providing tested, production-ready results that meet the team's quality standards.

• Take ownership of mobile projects from start to finish — gather requirements, design the approach, break down tasks, implement, and deliver to production across iOS and Android, including necessary backend and web frontend modifications.

• Serve as the primary technical reference point for the team on complex mobile issues — identify root causes across the application, native layers, networking, and platform behavior, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

• Review code and designs for accuracy — evaluating component and navigation structure, rendering, native integration, and adherence to mobile patterns — detecting issues prior to release.

• Contribute to and advance mobile engineering standards within the team — focusing on component architecture, native integration, testing, and release policies.

• Oversee the operational health of deployed work — monitor releases and staged rollouts, assess release health, and address post-release challenges on both platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience, including a minimum of 3 years with React Native.

• Expertise in React Native and TypeScript as the core skill set.

• Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals — including asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error handling.

• Familiarity with relational and document databases — including data modeling, querying, and indexing.

• Knowledge of RESTful API design and HTTP basics — capable of working across Node.js backend services, API contracts, database queries, and web frontend code.

• Proficiency with the native iOS and Android ecosystems and their development tools (Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle).

• Understanding of mobile operating system principles — including app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory constraints.

• Experience with automated testing methodologies (unit, integration, E2E).

• Awareness of mobile security practices — ensuring secure storage and management of sensitive and payment information.

• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools for research, troubleshooting, and implementation.

• Capability to independently troubleshoot common React Native production challenges — including rendering, navigation, networking, and app lifecycle.

• Proven history of managing mobile projects end-to-end — from requirements gathering through store release, including necessary backend and web frontend modifications.

• Experience in designing mobile application architecture — understanding trade-offs between performance, reliability, and observability across iOS and Android.

• Experience in designing or integrating native modules and SDKs when React Native abstractions fall short — including focused Swift/Kotlin changes and debugging across JavaScript and native layers.

• Familiarity with the release process — including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.

• Experience in establishing mobile engineering practices from the ground up — including standards, CI/CD, and release processes across both inherited and greenfield codebases.

• Skilled in designing robust asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions (messaging, queues).

• Experience managing mobile production operations — including monitoring, crash reporting, incident response, and rollback procedures.

• Demonstrated capability to mentor and develop junior engineers.

• Proficiency in English sufficient for daily written and verbal communication.
