This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and enhance fullstack functionalities for RUM, encompassing backend services, APIs, storage solutions, and frontend user interfaces.
• Architect and create systems that process, store, and retrieve high-cardinality, high-volume telemetry data utilizing columnar and analytical databases.
• Construct efficient query layers and APIs that facilitate real-time exploration of user sessions, traces, and events.
• Contribute to frontend applications that display RUM data, empowering users to troubleshoot performance issues and comprehend user behaviors.
• Engage in data modeling, indexing strategies, and query optimization to guarantee low-latency, cost-effective analytics at scale.
• Work collaboratively with SDK engineers (both browser and mobile) to ensure high-quality data ingestion and schema evolution.
• Take ownership of projects from inception to completion: covering design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvements.
• Decompose complex and ambiguous challenges into manageable deliverables and iterate swiftly based on feedback.
• Maintain quality through testing, ensuring observability of your systems, documenting processes, and providing seamless upgrade paths.
• Collaborate across functions with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering to create integrated observability workflows.
• Provide support to teammates, engage in technical design discussions, and contribute to shaping the RUM roadmap.
• Over 5 years of fullstack engineering experience with a solid foundation in backend development.
• Proficiency in backend development (preferably Go) along with frontend expertise, using TypeScript and React.
• Experience in building or managing distributed systems in a production environment (e.g., Kafka, WarpStream, ClickHouse, Cassandra, Postgres).
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Background in handling high-throughput, high-cardinality data (logs, metrics, traces, events).
• Strong grasp of data modeling, query optimization, and performance trade-offs.
• Experience in designing and constructing APIs and distributed services.
• Proven experience in building data-intensive user interfaces (dashboards, query tools, debugging interfaces).
• Familiarity with observability concepts (traces, logs, metrics) and/or OpenTelemetry.
• Excellent communication abilities and adeptness in working within a remote, distributed team.
