Senior Full Stack Engineer – Ruby on Rails, ReactJS

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to create, develop, test, deploy, and sustain scalable web applications.

• Utilize AI coding agents to expedite product development and resolve defects.

• Design and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.

• Implement asynchronous application processing using tools such as Sidekiq.

• Construct and support responsive, high-performance React.js interfaces and reusable components.

• Write and optimize SQL queries for PostgreSQL/MySQL databases.

• Enhance application reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability of extensive enterprise systems.

• Develop, and work with other engineers on, technical specifications that align with short-term and long-term Product roadmaps and enterprise architectural objectives.

• Employ APM and observability tools to identify, diagnose, and remedy performance bottlenecks.

• Recognize technical debt and implement practical solutions to address it.

• Take ownership of features and complex issues from product design through to development, deployment, and monitoring.

• Engage in all phases of the Product, Design, and Engineering processes, collaboratively building new features within a pod-based environment.

• Communicate with our internal customers about your contributions to our software platform in support of our external clients.

• Collaborate with team members to identify, prioritize, and mitigate technical debt while enhancing scalability and performance across the codebase.

• Participate in architectural and technical design discussions across Product and Engineering.

• Contribute to peer code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.

• Investigate and resolve outages through root-cause analysis and implement clear follow-up improvements.

• Mentor junior engineers and advocate for engineering best practices using AI-led methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 6+ years of experience in building enterprise-level applications using Ruby on Rails.

• 3+ years of experience working with React.js or related modern JavaScript frameworks.

• 3+ years of experience within a team of 30+ engineering members.

• 3+ years of remote work experience, with a desire to continue in a remote capacity.

• 3+ years of experience in developing and operating applications on AWS.

• 2+ years of experience using AI coding agents, including Claude Code or Codex.

• Familiarity with Docker for local development.

• Experience managing enterprise-level production workload applications on AWS.

• Proficient in integrating with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Capable of writing raw SQL queries in a relational database.

• Experience in constructing asynchronous background job processes across multiple tools/frameworks.

• Knowledge of observability tools like Datadog, Sentry, or New Relic.

• Experience in writing automated unit tests with over 60% code coverage.

• CI/CD development experience, particularly in creating GitHub Actions.

• Experience in modernizing legacy Ruby on Rails applications.

• Experience in a product-led engineering organization.

• Experience working within a multi-team or pod-based engineering structure.

• Exhibits accountability and ownership, addressing gaps when they arise.

• Experience in high-volume transactional production environments.

• Skilled at converting product requirement documents into detailed technical specifications.

• Availability to work during US Eastern Timezone hours between 9am - 5pm ET.
