• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain scalable web applications.
• Utilize AI coding agents to expedite product development and resolve defects.
• Create and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Implement asynchronous application processing using tools such as Sidekiq.
• Construct and uphold responsive, high-performance React.js interfaces and reusable components.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for PostgreSQL/MySQL databases.
• Enhance application reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability of large enterprise systems.
• Develop and collaborate with other engineers on technical specifications aligned with short-term and long-term Product roadmaps and enterprise architectural goals.
• Utilize APM and observability tools to identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Recognize technical debt and implement practical solutions to manage it.
• Take ownership of features and complex issues from product design through development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Engage in all aspects of the Product, Design, and Engineering processes, building new features together in a collaborative pod-based environment.
• Communicate with our internal customers by leveraging your contributions to our software platform in support of our external customers.
• Collaborate with team members to identify, prioritize, and mitigate technical debt while enhancing scalability and performance across the codebase.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions across Product and Engineering.
• Contribute to peer code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.
• Investigate and resolve outages through root-cause analysis and implement follow-up improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and advocate for engineering best practices utilizing AI-led methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 6 years of experience in building enterprise-level applications using Ruby on Rails.
• More than 3 years of experience working with React.js or a similar modern JavaScript framework.
• At least 3 years of experience within a 30+ member engineering team.
• Minimum of 3 years working 100% remotely and a continued desire to do so.
• 3+ years of experience developing and operating applications on AWS.
• Over 2 years of experience using AI coding agents, including Claude Code or Codex.
• Proficiency in using Docker locally.
• Experience running enterprise-level production workload applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Ability to write raw SQL queries in a relational database.
• Experience in building asynchronous background job processes across various tools/frameworks.
• Knowledge of observability tools like Datadog, Sentry, or New Relic.
• Experience writing automated unit tests with over 60% code coverage.
• CI/CD development experience creating GitHub Actions.
• Background in modernizing legacy Ruby on Rails applications.
• Experience in a product-led engineering organization.
• Familiarity with working in a multi-team/pod-based engineering team.
• Demonstrates an accountability and ownership mindset, addressing gaps as they arise.
• Experience in high-volume transactional production environments.
• Exceptional ability to translate product requirement documents into detailed technical specifications.
• Availability to work US Eastern Timezone hours between 9am - 5pm ET.
