Senior Full-stack Engineer – React, Node

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete lifecycle of product features, encompassing database schema design, backend implementation, frontend delivery, and production monitoring.

• Design, construct, and maintain scalable event-driven and distributed systems that prioritize reliability and data consistency.

• Develop and enhance complex PostgreSQL queries, migrations, and transactional workflows tailored for high-performance financial operations.

• Establish robust integrations with third-party systems utilizing webhooks, queues, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.

• Apply reliability engineering practices including idempotency, dead-letter queues (DLQs), outbox patterns, and fault-tolerant processing.

• Create responsive, high-quality user interfaces leveraging React and Next.js.

• Engage in architectural decision-making and continually enhance system scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code or similar platforms, to boost engineering productivity and expedite delivery.

• Participate in code reviews, mentor fellow engineers, and advocate for best practices in managing sensitive financial and transactional data.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering stakeholders to provide exceptional user experiences.

• Implement and sustain observability and monitoring solutions with tools such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Contribute to infrastructure automation and manage cloud resources utilizing Infrastructure as Code practices such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Ensure engineering practices adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements including SOC2 and PCI-DSS standards where applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering end-to-end production-ready applications.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced skills in React and Next.js.

• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and database engineering, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance analysis.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of reliability engineering practices, including:

• - Idempotency keys and retry strategies

• - Dead-letter queues (DLQs)

• - Outbox patterns

• - Reconciliation processes for data consistency

• Experience in building webhook-driven architectures and integrating with third-party systems.

• Solid grasp of scalable system architecture, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant applications.

• Experience with financial, payments, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems.

• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar agentic coding platforms.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a holistic systems-thinking approach, focusing on edge cases and data integrity.

• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work independently within high-impact engineering teams.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms like Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments, including SOC2 or PCI-DSS.

• Knowledge of property-based testing frameworks such as fast-check for validating complex business logic.

• Expertise in optimizing applications for scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Prior experience mentoring engineers and engaging in technical leadership initiatives.

• Experience within fintech or high-transaction-volume platforms.

• Exposure to modern AI-enhanced engineering workflows and automation practices.

• Experience collaborating within autonomous, product-focused engineering teams.
