Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of core platform services: Design, develop, and maintain SSO and authentication services, profile management services, and data aggregation layers that form the foundation for all products.

• Full stack development: Create backend APIs and services, and subsequently develop the frontend interfaces that utilize them.

• Influence architectural decisions: Assess trade-offs, document choices, and steer the advancement of our service architecture.

• Design for scalability and reliability: Create systems that accommodate growth seamlessly with effective observability, error handling, and recovery strategies.

• Build for a multi-region presence: Make informed decisions regarding data residency and data movement across the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.

• Deliver production code: This role is not limited to theoretical scenarios; you will write code daily and manage features from inception to completion.

• Collaborate with various teams: Partner with product engineers who utilize your services to grasp their requirements and deliver clean, well-documented APIs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong full stack expertise. You are comfortable taking ownership of features from database to user interface.

• Practical experience with **Node.js/TypeScript**.

• Proficiency in modern **React** development (hooks, state management, component architecture).

• Comprehensive understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and query optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with **OpenSearch, Elasticsearch**, or similar search infrastructures.

• Working knowledge of **AWS fundamentals**: RDS, S3, ECS, SQS, and other managed services.

• Hands-on experience in developing or managing **identity and authentication systems (OAuth, SAML, SSO federation)**, as you will oversee SSO from day one.

• Proven track record of managing services in production: monitoring, debugging, and incident response.

• Strong technical communication skills. You can articulate complex systems to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• **Nice to Have:**

• Backend experience with **PHP/Laravel**.

• Experience with **.NET**.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous job processing.

• Previous experience as a tech lead or staff engineer.
