Senior Freelance Animation Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Produce high-quality animations that effectively convey both realistic and stylized/exaggerated motion as dictated by the project requirements.

• Develop convincing performances for characters, creatures, and props in alignment with the creative vision and project specifications.

• Ensure animations are technically proficient, follow established guidelines, and integrate smoothly within various production pipelines.

• Collaborate seamlessly with other departments, providing constructive feedback and discussing both creative and technical approaches to achieve the best outcomes.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing, engage in department-wide training sessions, and mentor junior animators.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience working in a visual effects or animation studio.

• Demonstrated expertise in Maya; familiarity with additional animation software is a plus.

• Strong grasp of body mechanics and facial animation techniques.

• Capability to animate from reference and deliver believable acting performances.

• Exceptional attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to effectively manage deadlines.

• A positive, collaborative attitude coupled with strong communication skills.

• Asset: Experience with ShotGrid or other production tracking systems.

• Asset: Understanding of rigging fundamentals or experience in developing custom tools.
